About the Friends

The Friends of Surbiton and Tolworth Health Community is a local health charity that was formed by volunteers, some of whom are ex-health professionals in the NHS.
It was registered on 31 July 1962 with the Charity No 208162, and is a member of the National Association of League of Hospital Friends, now known as ATTEND.
The aim of the Friends is to provide items for patients, carers and staff that are not available from limited NHS funds. The Friends consider all requests for help from Mental Health and the Older People's Services around Kingston, Tolworth and Surbiton community.
Among many examples of grant-giving, the Friends have made contributions towards:
The Friends hold regular meetings and consider all requests for help from Mental Health Services, and the Older People's Services around the Kingston, Tolworth and Surbiton community.

- A trolley service at the Cedar Unit
- The Message in a Bottle Scheme for Kingston residents
- Musical equipment for patients in Mental Health areas
- Various entertainments on wards throughout the year
